We are interested in finding a programmer who can accomodate a small but intricate application build for our media research purposes for a limited installation.
It's main purpose is to capture banner and rich media advertising directly from the source codes of pages being browsed.
The application needs to:
- Work on a windows operating system
- Facilitate multiple simultaneous deployment
- Identify and retain standard and rich media banner placements within pages over an extended period of browsing (0-30 minutes)
- Keep track of the website or web-location where the ads were trafficked
- Record these banners and placements in a way that it is trackable by machine or browsing session
- Broadcast/FTP/Export this information in real-time to a remote machine or server
- Reproduce and store the ads in such a way that our team can identify them by placement and keep the full advertisements on file
- Facilitate the selection and reproduction of the banner ads in an alternate environment using either images or code
In an ideal world it would be able to work on more than one browser, but for starters we can run it with internet explorer. We have a couple ideas about how this can be accomplished, i.e. how ads can be identified, but have left it open to interpretation.
