Our team is looking to inventory unused surgical tools collected after each scheduled operation at a number of Toronto hospitals. Ideally we would like the software to be able to recognize up to approx 30 different surgical tools laid out on a table in a photo and inventory the type and number of these items for each surgery. Tools that might be in the image for example include catheters, gauze pads, and scissors. The software should be able to keep track of which tools were used in which surgery provide notification when an unrecognizable object appears in the photo. Accuracy should be such that minimal human quality control is necessary.
